Noises I Make (My Music)
Prior to discovering philosophy, my first love was music. As I mentioned in my bio, I actually pursued a music career as a drummer after receiving my undergraduate degree. While I can’t say that I achieved any major success—though one of my bands did get a record deal…after I left!—I had a great time playing live and touring around the country.
My passion for music is something that I retain to this day, and I have continued playing and recording music, mostly in my small home studio. While I have a wide-ranging taste in music, my preferred genres to perform are hard rock and progressive/experimental rock. That said, I have written and recorded songs in very different styles—from progressive rock to synth pop and even an instrumental Latin song—some of which I’ve included on this page. Feel free to check them out. I wrote, played all the instruments (except for the horns on “Television”), and did all the singing on them, save for El Pato, which was co-written with my daughter Zoe, and “Twilight,” which was co-written with Monique Moyer and features Sarah on vocals.
